“I have been an enthusiastic fly fisher for 20 years, mostly concentrating on brown trout fishing on lochs and rivers throughout Scotland. Carron Valley still ranks amongst my favourite places to spend a day or evening. There is an abundance of hard fighting rainbow trout and wild brown trout on any area of the water. It really is a hauntingly beautiful place to be in the fading light of a summer evening.

I hope to encourage more people to enjoy fly fishing as much as I do. Having successfully completed the Scottish Game Anglers Instructors certificate I then applied to the Governing Body of Game Angling to be assessed as an Advanced Game Angling Instructor. Whether you are a beginner interested in taking up fly fishing or a ‘long in the tooth’ fly fisher wishing to improve your casting technique, we will tailor any instruction to suit.

All tuition can be arranged either in a group or one to one session.

We have a selection of full courses available from beginner to advanced covering all aspects, for example:

Casting Techniques, Equipment used, Flies, Basic Knots, The fish and their environment, Single handed techniques:- Double Haul, Roll Casts, Casting into the Wind.

Off Water Casting including:- Spey Casts & Snake rolls.

Or you may just want to spend an hour or so with one of our instructors to improve your own technique.

No need to bring any tackle – All Tackle, Rods, Reels and Line provided.
